The Convention Complex consists of five reinforced-concrete buildings with plan dimensions of 17.5m x 57m. The original flat roof was replaced with additional sixth storey that is structurally composed of steel supporting structure and glulam trusses of strength class GL24. The trusses in connection with straight and curved pieces were used to form main transverse bonds, which shall carry the roof envelope. The truss dimensions are 140mm x 600mm, and in areas of large spans, the profiles are strengthened to 240mm x 600mm.  The arches were made using a very small radius of 2.85m, and consequently laminations having a thickness of 14mm had to be used to create the arch. A very interesting effect could be achieved as a result. The roof envelope was completely pre-engineered at the manufacturing plant, including all functional layers. The site work consisted mainly in the assembly of the panels. The wall cladding was made open to diffusion and the assembly was done on site. The main support structure consists of 60/120 posts made of finger jointed structural timber (KVH) and thermal insulation that combines mineral insulation with wood-fibres. The external cladding of the walls is made of thermally-treated Nordic pine.  The roofing material is 0.7mm aluminium sheets jointed with lock seams with strips being 500mm wide.
