The project aims at covering the indoor pool at the leisure centre in Nové Město na Moravě with wooden roof. The pool area has a footprint size of 15.8 x 43.4m. The building has a flat roof with integrated rooflight and roof parapet. The roof structure rests mainly of steel posts and partially on an RC skeleton of the technical rooms. The supporting structure of the roof consists of main beams made of GL28c glulam timber in combination with steel camber rod 45mm in diameter. The centre-to-centre distance between the beams is 5400mm. An inclined beam of the rooflight having a slope of 34.6deg rests on a timber beam at the point above the brace of the camber rod. Stiffening of the roof plane is achieved by combining steel rod tension members of 22mm diameter and tubes with an outside diameter of 101.6mm. A deck made of 21mm plywood is carried by purlins made of glued laminated timber GL24h.
